Ian Anderson, celým jménem Ian Scott Anderson (* 10. srpna 1947, Dunfermline, Skotsko) je britský hudebník (zpěvák, flétnista, kytarista) a skladatel, vůdčí osobnost pravděpodobně světově nejproslulejší hard-folk rockové skupiny Jethro Tull, jejíž vrcholným obdobím tvorby byl přelom 60. a 70. let 20. století. Hudba Ian Andersona a jeho skupiny byla od počátku inspirována starou britskou lidovou hudbou, blues a rockem. Originální zvuk a melodicko-harmonické principy, kombinující hard-rock s charakteristickými postupy renesanční lidové hudby a tradicí pěvců a hudebníků té doby činí hudební výraz kapely i autorových sólových projektů nezaměnitelnými. Kromě dlouhé řady alb, vydaných se skupinou, z nichž některá si dobyla nejen nadšeného přijetí, ale stala se i klasikou období hard-rocku („Stand Up“, „Aqualung“, či „Living In The Past“), nahrál Ian Anderson též několik sólových projektů.
