• Official US designation: M4A2E8 / M4A2(76W) HVSS.
• British designation: Sherman IIIAY.
• Built by General Motors (Fisher) in Michigan USA, with the serial No 65016.
• British registration T224875.
• This is a late war example with HVSS (Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension) and was previously displayed in genuine British markings as ‘T224875’ “HARRY” / “RON”. Fully operational, she was chosen to star in the movie “Fury” and was mocked up in authentic US Army WW2 condition. Filming took place in late 2013 and also involved The Tank Museum’s operational Tiger I ‘131’. The film was released in 2014 and the Sherman has since been placed on display in a dedicated area of the museum highlighting the movie and its production.
